Target Detection Algorithm Incorporating Visual Expansion Mechanism and Path Syndication

Because the lack of semantic information exchange between characteristic layers, SSD (Single Shot multibox Detector) algorithm has insufficient detection performance. To address this problem, a called VPE-SSD (Visual Path Enhancement SSD) by incorporating visual expansion mechanism and path syndication proposed in paper. Firstly, is added to shallow layer increase perceptual field. This enables be more fully utilized network. It can also achieve purpose enhancing expressiveness feature layer. Then, processed deep layers are fed into module for bi-directional fusion. improves global generates multi-scale maps. Next, enhance detailed characteristics improve their expression, enhancement applied last three Finally, using blended attention reduce negative interference expression maps during target detection. The experimental analysis conducted on VOC COCO, mAP 83.4% 48.4%. From result, make better use different size which helps performance algorithm.
